see the line, trust the roll

Welcome to my journey of crafting the perfect wooden putter! By a chance encounter with a woman golfer in July 2025, I embarked on a mission to merge modern technology with traditional woodcraft. After countless prototypes and experiments, I proudly present the "Str8R 8R" – a face-balanced batwing design that sank over 60 feet of putts in its first round. Each putter is balanced, shaped and finished with obsessive attention to detail, creating a one of a kind work of art.

Heart Wood Putters is a brand that captures golf's essence: your heart soaring on the wings of a pure stroke. The logo and the brand are a collaboration between Peter Gunby of Heart Wood Putters and artist and marketing guru April Donovan. It was through BIC-NW (Brain Injury Connections Northwest) that Peter and April connected. Heart Wood Putters donates % of profits to BIC-NW. As survivors, we're members of a club no one joins eagerly. BIC-NW programs include support groups, and art sessions, both available in-person and virtually.

TESTIMONIALS

Heart Wood Putters humbly hopes to make golf more joyful. Winning a bet, making a birdie, salvaging a par, we lean on our putters as we run down the dream of better golf scores.

We're not bragging, we're sharing: because someone else said it.

“Using this beautiful putter has given me a better understanding of the historic role of wood in golf, and more importantly has improved my putting.”

Ken Ward, Oregon
